Family Steam
Train Event
Saturday 13th June
Burchatts Farm, Stoke Park |
It was all aboard
the model steam trains at Stoke Park for Home-Start Guildford families
and volunteers on Saturday. The Fat Controller checked their tickets
and they were off!
This was the first time we had used the Model Steam
Trains for a family activity and the members of GMES were so helpful,
the weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time.
We are very grateful to Gordon and Ann Parris of the
Children with Special Needs Foundation, Hit Entertainment, Egmont and
Waterstones for sponsoring this event. |
All the children
went away with a hat and a Thomas the Tank Engine goodie bag and it
was great to welcome so many families and volunteers to this special
day. |
Everyone brought a picnic, our volunteers and staff
served drinks, cakes and ice creams |
and Suzanne from Lollipop Face Painting worked flat
out – painting more than 50 faces in three hours. She was superb and
made a lot of children (and Mums and Dads) very happy |
A huge THANK YOU to our wonderful volunteers! Many of
you brought your family along with you and looked after the children
whilst many others helped out with the catering, setting up and
packing away. We couldn't have managed without you. |
